The Seattle Seafair Pirates Official Web Site - Pirate Kings of the Northwest since 1949 It's a high-humored heist by the Seattle SEAFAIR Pirates. The salty troupe's shenanigans and formidable float, the Duck, have become synonymous with SEAFAIR revelry. The Pirates, originally members of the Washington State Press Club's Ale & Quail Society, banded together in 1949 to promote Seattle and Seafair while having fun and serving the community. Despite their bad-guy image, the Pirates make dozens of appearances annually to hospitals and nursing homes. During the height of Seattle's SEAFAIR Celebration, they appear at several events and parades each day. The 40+ Pirates are an elite troupe who carefully selects their members based on their ability to mix well with the public and for their unique musical or theatrical talents.

St. Philomena School is still on Cloud 9 thanks to the SeaFair Pirates' visit on Tuesday. We are simply overwhelmed by your goodness and generosity. You will be receiving a little gift from the students but I just wanted to thank you personally for helping me make a dream come true.

Gloria came to me quickly and said, "This is better than Disneyland because all my friends are with me!". That's really why we tried to make the day happen.

Please accept my heartfelt thanks and appreciation for working to make such a special memory for Gloria, her family, and our school community! It was magical! Each and every pirate was there for Gloria and I was amazed how incredible you all were to stay and play with us. You listened to the family and celebrated the children. The day just couldn't have been more perfect.

Gloria headed up to Children's Wednesday and Thursday and is now home "sick" from the chemo. She is a fighter and we pray her little body can endure this cancer (neuroblastoma) because her spirit can.

If there is any way, I can help to share the good news of the Pirates, I believe I am your number one fan.

Blessings always,
Sandy Smith
