In Memory of a Great Pirate
October 14, 1946 - December 9, 1999
Dar Westphal will be missed by all. Known for his generosity among his friends. A Seafair Pirate since 1979, Dar was a colorful and beloved member that gave his all to the club.
Born in and raised in Seattle Washington, Dar graduated from Ballard High School in 1964 where he lettered in Baseball. He apprenticed as a sheet metal craftsman, becoming a journeyman and remaining in the trade his whole career.
He is survived by his parents Robert and Darlene Westphal of Camano Island, his brother Berry Westphal, nieces Julie and Joe, and nephew Jeff, and his sister Ilene, (husband Robert), and nephews Robert and Terry.
His loves were his partner of 13 years, Suzanne Spangler, his activities as a Seafair Pirate, and his 1956 26' Chris Craft "Dar's Mistress".
Memorial services to be held 2:00 pm Friday, December 17, 1999
A wake will be held 6:00 pm, Tuesday, December 21st, 1999.
